The Forecaster posted an article for the upcoming election.  It’s always interesting to see what snippets they use in articles.  On the two questions asked, here are my complete answers…

Regarding full time/hybrid…

For the sake of all involved, our kids need to be back in school full-time, 5 days a week, and can be now according to AAP, CDC and many others. I will advocate strongly and logically to make that happen. The board should move to make full-time the standard and get creative if guidelines don’t change. The board should publish the data if there are obstacles and be open to solutions.

Regarding the recall…

I am supportive of the Back to 5 efforts, but I wasn’t part of this recall. As a planning board member and candidate for school board, I did not think it was appropriate for me to be part of it. I was disappointed with the turmoil it caused and the discontent on the matter seemed backward to me. I would think board members (and supporters of them) who had worked hard should not be concerned about the same voters choosing again if they are confident in their performance. It should have been an opportunity for vindication. It was alarming to see and feel the shaming/pressure to not sign the petition.
